When was the last time you properly let loose?
If you’re walking around like a simmering pot of pent-up stress, an empowering yoga class, meditation and dance experience could be just what the doctor ordered.
Unity Yoga in Clonakilty is hosting two Yoga Flow & Ecstatic Dance workshops on Sunday, October 4th, offering the perfect opportunity to try something brand new and have a little fun at the same time.
Ecstatic dance is a liberating type of freeform movement that encourages you to drop your inhibitions and enjoy the rhythm – just like you did in your clubbing days, except without the alcohol.
It’s a judgement-free zone; the practice travels through breath work and yoga into a dance experience they say “will help release fear and pain, and allow you to merge with your truly empowered, natural state of being.”
How do I sign up?
The classes run from 10am to 12pm and 12pm to 2pm at Unity Yoga, Clonakilty (entrance next to Olive Branch in Spillers Lane, top floor).
The instructions are pretty straightforward: “Wear comfy clothes that you can dance and yoga flow in. It will get hot so layers are encouraged. We will be barefoot, bring water and and pillow to sit on – anything that will make you feel more comfortable.”
Spaces are limited to seven per class with adequate space between yoga mats as per social distancing requirements and all abilities are welcome. Booking is essential so text 087 922 8600 to reserve your spot or check out the event listing here.
