Cold Snap: ‘Heavy hail and thunder’ forecast for tonight

There’s a weather warning in place for Dublin, Louth, Wicklow and Meath, but it looks like Cork won’t escape the deluge either.
Met Éireann is predicting heavy showers “with hail and thunder possible” tonight.
Minimum temperatures will range between zero and plus four degrees in moderate to fresh northeasterly winds.
Frost will form in sheltered spots too, so remember to be extra careful getting into the car on Wednesday morning.
Feeling cold today with a brisk east or northeast wind. There will be scattered showers about, these frequent across Leinster & east Munster but more isolated elsewhere. The best of any sunny breaks will be found in the west & northwest. Top temperatures will range 6 to 8 degrees pic.twitter.com/9CKYWrwPiz

Further showers are expected on Wednesday, “perhaps merging into a longer spell of rain for a time”.
Brilliant.
However, there will be some bright or sunny spells also, especially during the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will range between five and seven degrees.
All in all, it’s the perfect weather for getting stuck in to our list of Cork’s best hot chocolates.
