Is there anything cosier than coming home to a slow-cooked meal?

With summer on the way out and autumn approaching, now is the time to collect everything you need for a few months’ hibernation.

Next week, Aldi has just the thing; their Home Starter Slow Cooker hits the treasures aisle in your local store on September 6th… and it’s an absolute bargain at €17.99.

In case you’re unfamiliar, slow cookers allow you to save time and prepare delicious slow-cooked dishes while you’re at work or out and about.

You just whack in your ingredients (usually meat and veggies) add a liquid such as wine or stock, then pop the lid on and allow it to cook gently all day or night.

Aside from soups, stews, casseroles and chilli, you can also use it to make breakfast goodies while you sleep; Nutella French toast with caramelised banana, anyone?

The removable oval ceramic non-stick pot in Aldi’s version is dishwasher safe with adjustable heat control (high, low and keep warm settings) and with a 3.5litre capacity, it’s ideal for feeding a crowd or stocking your fridge and freezer with leftovers.
