A local illustrator just finished a cheery new mural outside this Liberty Street pub

Cheers!
The outdoor seating area at city bar Impala just got a nifty new look, thanks to a custom mural created by a local artist and illustrator.
Liverpool-born, Cork-based creative Cathy Hogan spent the weekend putting the finishing touches to the gorgeous large-scale piece on the wall of the Liberty Street pub in Cork city centre.
The design features two happy mates clinking glasses near a sleeping dog – a nod to the venue’s ‘dog-friendly policy.

“This was my first mural and I’m pretty proud of how it came out, considering I was terrified of painting in general let alone in front of lots of people at a huge scale.” Cathy shared on Instagram.
“If you’re thinking of doing one but are a bit nervous, do it!”
Cathy’s work has featured on the cover of the Irish independent Magazine as well as in national campaigns for various brands. She also designed the tiled artwork of a diver leaping from a diving board that takes pride of place over the pool at The Dean Hotel Cork.
