A Cork storyteller entertained guests at this STUNNING celeb wedding

What. A. Day.
Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson tied the knot with DJ Hector Barbour (aka Denis Sulta) at the stunning Dromquinna Manor near Kenmare in County Kerry over the weekend.
Around 160 guests were treated to three days of fun, food and entertainment with one Cork entertainer getting a shout-out in Vogue following the bash.
Cork’s own Diarmuid O’Drisceoil was on hand on the day to enthral the lucky wedding guests with interesting tales.
The writer, historian, and storyteller, who has appeared and presented shows on TG4 and RTE, formed part of the Irish-themed schedule events, which also featured plenty of Irish music.
“I can reveal that I am THE Irish storyteller mentioned in Vogue!” he posted on Instagram.
“Wishing all the best to the happy couple Saoirse and Hector and their brilliant listeners, they soaked up the stories.”

O’Drisceoil draws his material from folk traditions but also mines his family history and life experience to craft stories that are funny, moving, and always memorable.
Tradition was the order of the day at this celeb bash; in honour of the his Scottish roots, the groom wore a Hebridean MacKenzie tartan kilt and his dad’s sporran.
The bride walked up the aisle to the Derry Girls theme song, Cranberries hit “Dreams” and the pair left the ceremony to Talking Heads’s “Once in a Lifetime” in a cloud of purple smoke.
The wedding cake was also made by Cork bakery Broken Spoons. Tara Menzies is a bespoke luxury wedding cake designer based in Mallow.
“It was an absolute honour to create their centrepiece wedding cake and I love love love the image of their cake cutting.” Tara shared on social media.
The story continues in Blackrock
If you’d like to see what Saoirse-Monica’s guests enjoyed, Diarmuid O’Drisceoil will be appearing next Saturday at Blackrock Village festival, where he will be discussing the Ring of Blackrock and the history of the area at 3pm in the Community Centre in Blackrock Village.
