This creative couple have launched a clever campaign to find a flat in Cork

By Yay Cork September 11, 2026

Finding somewhere decent to live in Cork these days is a bit like The Hunger Games.

Except instead of fighting for survival, you’re refreshing Daft, sending desperate messages to landlords and wondering if writing a begging letter might finally get you over the line.

But one Cork couple have decided that if the rental market is going to be a battle, they may as well bring their A-game.

Lisa Hamm and her partner Finn are currently on the hunt for a place to rent in the city and, after presumably realising that simply looking for an apartment wasn’t going to cut it, they’ve launched an entire social media campaign to market themselves as the ideal tenants.

Called Finn and Lisa are Looking for a Flat, the campaign is their attempt to get the word out and, hopefully, find a landlord willing to take them in.

“As we all know, finding a flat in Cork is almost impossible, so we’re trying everything we can,” the couple shared on Instagram.

“Please, if you know anyone who might move out anywhere or have any tips, let us know. We appreciate any help.”

Their carousel post lays out the essentials. Lisa and Finn have been together for four years, they’re looking for somewhere in Cork City Centre and, crucially, they would very much like people to know that they are respectful tenants.

“We’re clean, tidy and considerate, with no pets, and would take great care of any home we rent,” they said.

The pair have a budget of up to €2,000 per month and are hoping to find a one-bedroom flat in the city.

Lisa works as a visual merchandiser at H&M, while Finn is a sommelier at Cork’s River Lee Hotel. They’re also ready to move in immediately.

So, if you know of a one-bed going in Cork City Centre, have a landlord auntie with a soft spot for a well-organised social media campaign, or simply possess some useful rental market intel, Lisa and Finn would no doubt love to hear from you.

Because in 2026, apparently, finding a flat now requires references, deposits, immaculate credit and a full-scale marketing strategy.
