A Cork man has invented a pillow that might fix your teeth grinding

You need this in your life.
A Cork back pain specialist has invented a pillow so unique he reckons it could literally be life changing for people who suffer from insomnia, teeth grinding and neck pain.
The product of 15 years of research and testing, Noel O’Connor’s Reflex Pillow gently holds your head in the perfect position as you doze, improving oxygen uptake and keeping your neck and spine aligned. This means you toss and turn less during the night and wake up feeling refreshed.
In fact, the unique design of ReflexPillow allows the head to be slightly tilted and in a lateral upwards position, keeping the airways open during sleep, which could put a stop to snoring too.
Having given it a bash, we can confirm; it works.
The pillow is made from a new type of lovely squashy non-toxic foam that cradles your head and neck when you lie down. Two head dips (hollows) and a ridge on the top side of the pillow prevent head roll (these dips are for those who lie on their sides).
The middle ridge keeps your spine in its correct alignment while the front side of the pillow has a shoulder slot and neck support.
While the relief from teeth grinding has been attributed to the improved oxygen uptake, we found the cloud-soft foam helped too; especially if you tend to sleep on your front.
The pillow started life on Kickstarter, where 777 backers pledged €81,059 to help bring the project to life. Ever since then, the word has been spreading. As well as being available online through the Reflex Pillow website, it’s also stocked in O’Connor’s own Kilross Clinic, The Beauty Bar and Firgrove Pharmacy in Bishopstown and in Peter Maher’s Clinic in Carrigaline.
At €79, it’s not cheap, but we spend one third of our lives in bed and a bad night’s sleep can set you back for the week, so think of it as an investment in your health and wellbeing.
