Weekend weather set to be shockingly mild for November

By Carl Kinsella November 12, 2021
Weather

Perhaps even pleasant, at times.

As we’re well into winter now, one might be expecting the temperatures to drop a little bit. According to Met Éireann’s latest regional forecast for Munster, that’s certainly not happening yet.

Friday will see “wet and windy start this morning with blustery showers or longer spells of rain in fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds.”

This will clear up, thankfully, and a gradual change to drier conditions with some sunny spells will spread from the west through the morning as winds veer westerly and slowly moderate through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be an unseasonable 12 to 14 degrees.

Those temperatures will continue into Saturday, which will be cloudy but dry. Saturday night will remain temperate, with temperatures not expected to fall any lower than eight degrees.

Sunday will be the worst day of the lot, with Met Éireann advising that it will be “overcast for much of the day with light outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most persistent across the west and northwest and staying mostly dry in the east and southeast.” Once again, temperatures could be as high as 15 degrees.

It will begin to cool down a bit from then on, especially at night. Lows of six degrees are forecasted for Sunday night, and lows of 4 degrees for Monday night… Which is almost comfortingly normal, in a way.
