Attention carb-addicts: A breadlovers Mecca has opened in Innishannon

Sounds like a trip down Wesht is in order.
Innishannon is buzzing this month with the opening of the town’s newest bakery, Wildflour, and we want to try absolutely everything.
Owner and Clonmel native Chris Fahey has finally opened the doors to the newly finished shop in the Cork village, with the help of his wife Michelle and doggo extraordinaire, Cara.
On Instagram, Chris gushed about the tremendous support from neighbours and locals who ‘sent cards and wished us luck’ as they settled into their new home.
It wasn’t long before the bakery was cleaned out by hungry bread lovers on opening day.

Wildflour has continued to enjoy custom from villagers, passersby and people who make special trips from the city to grab a fresh loaf, Norwegian school buns and sausage rolls.
And the cupcakes, did we mention the cupcakes?

“I have always loved West Cork- Bandon, Clon, Skibbeereen all have bakeries, so there was an opening for Innishannon and it’s been hugely successful. It’s the perfect location really,” said Chris.
“I’m baking three-ingredient sourdough bread-flour, salt, water- trying to incorporate as much Irish flour as possible. I’m also making my own pastries, croissants, pain au chocolat, cinnamon buns and puff pastries…now we just need to get enough staff to meet the demand for bread and pastries.”

The bakery is already looking for a new pastry chef to help them build their own line of pastries and create new recipes.
Save us a bun, we’re coming!
