One of Cork’s most adored bread and cinnamon bun bakers is finally opening a bakery

His buns are beyond compare.
And soon you’ll be able to pick up a box of Chris Fahey’s mouthwatering croissant-cinnamon bun hybrids (spiced with cardamom with a little orange zest) directly from the source at the first walk-in Wildflour Bakery.
Work is underway on the premises in Inishannon, with the finishing touches set to continue once restrictions are lifted and an opening planned soon afterwards, hopefully later this spring.

Chris currently supplies many of Cork’s favourite coffee shops with baked goodies, from Stonevalley Roasters in Clonakilty to Pink Moon on Washington Street, Cafe Moly on Douglas Street and Some Dose at Hanley’s Garden Centre.
He also provides a home delivery service, dropping off fresh loaves of sourdough and rosemary focaccia twice a week to grateful city customers.

Announcing the news on social media, Chris shared a photo of the bakery, adding a customary punch of positivity:
“I could come on here and slate the government but there is enough negativity in the world. Think positive. I’m turning 30 this year and I once read that if you have your dream job by the time your 30, you’ll have 35 years to work at it. So what’s the rush.
In the meantime, I’ll keep the oven lit. Keep slingin’ sourdough. Keep rolling buns. Keep the head. Keep on keeping on? Is that a song? Anyway, keep the head lads. It’ll all be grand.”
