Whether you like to indulge in the V-Day hype or not, one thing’s for sure: February 14th is an excellent day to satisfy a sugar craving.

Candlelit dinners in cosy restaurants might be off the cards this year, but some of Cork’s most creative kitchens are doing their best to help us comfort eat our way through, with a variety of themed sweet treats available this weekend.

Here are three spots where you can pick up a heart-shaped dessert for someone special:

1. Shortbread for your shorty

Gusto’s Love Heart Cookies, two Valentine’s shortbread biscuit sandwiched together with homemade jam, are guaranteed to melt hearts this weekend. Order them for delivery or takeaway on Washington street and Lapps Quay.

2. Heart-shaped box

The perfect treat for Galentines Day, Diva Boutique Bakery in Ballinspittle just added a Deluxe Cookie and Cake box to their website. We’re talking chocolate raspberry heart cake, mini heart brownies, white chocolate and pecan blondies, heart-shaped sugar cookies, lemon meringue cake and handmade chocolate truffles.

3. Chai a little tenderness
