Listen; keeping the spark alive in a lockdown isn’t easy.
But if you’re running out of things to chat about with your other half, one Cork hotel has just the thing to get the conversation flowing again… just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The Imperial Hotel has packed a romantic evening for two into a neat treat for two to enjoy at home; a Valentine’s Date in a Box, if you will.
There are three options available:
- The ‘Sharing is Caring Box’ includes a scrumptious meat and cheese board to share, with delicious produce from The English Market and comes with a bottle of Prosecco (€49).
- ‘A Very Valentine’s Date’ has a three-course dinner for two with a choice of dishes to choose from including Ballycotton soft shell crab and lobster toast, wild boar terrine, Skeaghanore duck and café gourmand selection of desserts (€79).
- The ‘All You Need is Love Box’ includes a three-course meal for two, a bottle of Prosecco to raise a toast to each other and a box of luxurious chocolates to finish the evening (€99).
Included in every Date in a Box is a leaflet with hints and tips on how to recreate that restaurant feeling at home, with moody lighting and a fancy table setting.

The Imperial has even created a playlist for your evening of romance, with some game suggestions to give you a giggle and a very handy list of table talk suggestions, as well as a Love Capsule, which is a little box where you can store tokens from the evening to look back on in years to come and reminisce on Valentine’s Day 2021.
And it gets better; every customer who purchases one of the The Imperial’s takeaway meals or Valentine’s Date Boxes this Friday and Saturday will automatically be entered into a draw to win and overnight stay at The Old Ground Hotel, dinner for two in Thyme at Seventy Six on the Mall or a bottle of Prosecco.
All three options are available to pre-order online for click and collect on Friday, February 12th, Saturday, February 13th and Sunday, February 14th, 2021.
