A Coal Quay pub has erected cosy tents to keep you warm while you have a pint

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
As the weather grows colder, a Coal Quay pub has erected outdoor tents designed to protect customers from the autumn chill.
The blue shelters appeared outside The Rising Sons bar and brewery yesterday, offering a sheltered spot to kick back with a pint and a pizza. Word has it they’ll also be popping up outside The Bodega and The Oval on South Main Street, where a new seating area has been set up on the car-free Tuckey Street side.

Owner of all three venues, Cork publican Benny McCabe, confirmed that heaters and extra lighting will be installed too, ensuring as cosy a setting as possible for customers who wish to dine and drink alfresco in the coming months.
You can expect to see more creative cosiness on Cork’s newly pedestrianised city centre streets this season; last month, Cork City Council announced a €2,000 grant to help local cafés and restaurants to create cosy outdoor areas that will allow for social distancing this winter.
