5 gorgeous Mother’s Day dates to plan with your mum

It’s around the corner, people.
Sunday, March 31st is Mother’s Day, so whether you’ll be celebrating with your own mum or marking the occasion with your kids, now is the time to make a booking and plan something special.
Here are five fun ideas for making a day of it:
1. Brunch and a gallery visit at The Crawford
Spend some quality time together strolling the halls of the Crawford Art Gallery on Sunday (Mary Swanzy: Voyages is well worth a visit and runs until June, entry is free) then retire to the buzzy Crawford Art Gallery Cafe for a laid-back brunch (served from 11am until 3pm).
2. Afternoon tea and treatments at Castlemartyr
While away the morning with a 50-minute treatment (choose from the Signature Full Body Massage or the Signature Facial) followed by some relaxation time in the vitality pool and thermal suite.
Once all your tension is dissolved, head for the Bell Tower restaurant for a delicious afternoon tea served on elegant Vera Wang crockery and a glass of bubbles on arrival. Packages available from €119 per person here.
3. A stroll and a pizza stop in Blackrock
There’s nothing like working up an appetite at the Atlantic Pond. Once you’ve had your fill of fresh air on the Marina, bring your mum to The Leaping Salmon on the Blackrock Road for fancy pizza (ours is the Broccoli, with Gubbeen Cheese, ham hock and spring onion…) and a glass of vino.
4. Make a date for a gin tea
If work or other commitments are stopping you from meeting up on Mother’s Day, nab your mum a ticket to Electric’s Afternoon Tea with G&T on April 6th.
The fun kicks off at 2pm with a free gin and tonic to get the party started. Guests will be chowing down on a mouthwatering selection of Cork-made treats, from spiced beef sliders to mini Murphy’s cupcakes.
Tickets are €32.88 here – funds raised go to Shine Ireland, a voluntary association that works with children with autism and their families.
5. Sip and spa at The Maryborough
Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea will be served in the 18th Century Drawing Room at The Maryborough this year.
Priced at €35 per person, bookings are available at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm and each mum will be treated to a complimentary glass of Prosecco and a voucher entitling them to a reduced treatment price on a subsequent visit to the hotel’s award winning ESPA Spa.
