Sometimes you have to unplug to recharge.
And as the crisp air of autumn sweeps through the Cork countryside, there’s no better time to escape the hustle and bustle for a serene retreat.
Nestled amidst some truly breathtaking natural beauty, we’ve found a handful of affordable accommodations that offer a perfect blend of comfort and seclusion.
Whether you’re seeking tranquil woodland hikes or cosy evenings by the fire, these sweet Cork cabins are the ideal way to swap city lights for star-studded skies and embark on an unforgettable autumn adventure.
Here are three to book first:
An Tigín, Glengarriff
Located about three miles outside magical Glengarriff, An Tigín, a charming off-grid cabin just a stone’s throw away from the sea.
Whether you choose to go for a kayak or a swim in the nearby waters or simply prefer to curl up with a good book, it’s a dreamy setting to unplug and recharge.
“An Tigín does not offer electricity or WiFi.” says the host, Shane.
“Cooking facilities are limited and we provide a cooler box with ice for food storage. We’ve embraced an eco-friendly approach with a composting toilet. There is LED lighting and a hot shower provided. This is glamping at its best!”
You can book An Tigin from €95 per night here.
The Shed, Eyeries
This simple cabin overlooks stunning Coulagh Bay, between the villages of Eyeries and Ardgroom. Suitable for two people, it’s the perfect base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and the Ring of Beara.
Be warned though, this spot is rural and access is by foot over a rugged path. There is no public transport and you will need your own car.
Guest Amie who stayed in August said she would return “in a heartbeat”:
“The shed is cosy and has everything you need – including some complimentary coffee, oil, herbs and spices, shampoo etc. Ulrike is so friendly and gave us some good suggestions of things we could do/see nearby.”
You can book The Shed from €55 per night here.
Corbally Log Cabin, Kanturk
Tucked privately away in the beautiful gardens of a two-storey stone house in Kanturk, Corbally Log Cabin is a cosy, self-catering log cabin.
Ideal for those looking to escape into a space of peace and tranquility it’s 46 minutes from Killarney and 52 minutes from Cork City.
After a day’s exploring you can kick back and relax on the sheltered decking with a glass of wine whilst the stove crackles inside.
You can book this one from €79 per night here.
