Youghal is flying the Pride flag for a family-friendly party in the park

It’s an all-day party in the park.
Youghal Pride by the Sea is rolling out the rainbow flag for locals and visitors alike this weekend, with a ton of fun planned for families.
The event, which celebrates the LGBT+ communities of East Cork in the seaside town, will take place this Saturday, August 26th from 12pm-3pm at Green Park.
The Parade will assemble at Dolphin Square at 12:30pm and will begin at 1pm sharp. The route will leave Dolphin Square, move to Catherine Street, Grattan Street, Market Square, turn at the Clock Gate, and continue to Green Park via South Main Street, Friar Street and O’Brien Place.
“The Parade Grand Marshall and host for the event this year will be the Queen of Matchmaking, Mr. Pride himself Eddie McGuinness.” the organisers told us.
“Eddie will be joined on the stage in Green Park by new band Touch Excellent; Sinead Lee with Yasmin Bickerdike and Alex O’Mahoney, followed by the fabulous drag queen family Mockie Ah, with queens Mia Gold, Letycha Le’Synn and Liam Bee.
“The final act to get the crowd all dancing will be local band Eclipse, who will rock everyone away led by Keith Watkins.”
The Parade will lead everyone to Green Park where a family fun day will include stalls, face painting, Pride merchandise and games for children and adults, along with a raffle with prizes generously sponsored by local businesses.
The Tipsy Taco and Spice Genie will also be setting up in the park to feed hungry party-goers.
