You could find yourself racing a cheetah at this night-time 5k through Fota Wildlife Park

Bored of running around the local track?
If you’re on the hunt for a new spot to stretch your legs and you’re up for a fun challenge, an upcoming fundraiser offers an opportunity to see Fota Wildlife Park in a completely new way.
The Cheetah Run, a 5km race for adults and youngsters, returns to Fota Wildlife Park at 8pm this Thursday night, May 19th.
The race attracts up to 1000 participants and offers runners an exclusive route through the 100-acre reserve, past giraffes, lions, tigers, and cheetahs, and through the neighbouring Fota House and Gardens.
Organised by Eagle Athletic running club, the park is open exclusively to those who are racing, and you can even bring up to four family members along for free to watch.

All the kids’ places for the race are sold out but there are still adult places available and funds raised will support Fota Wildlife, funding conservation projects such as the re-introduction of the Madagascar Pochard to Lake Sophia in Northern Madagascar and the European Bison to Poland and Romania, and Eagle Athletic Club.
Entries close at midnight Wednesday, May 18th and you can nab a place here.
