You can take a free Tai Chi class in the leafy shade of UCC’s gardens

Feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders?
If you’d enjoy an hour of peace and quiet with the added benefit of stronger muscles and improved balance, get yourself over to UCC this summer.
A free Tai Chi class takes place twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays in the gorgeous leafy campus grounds.
Tai Chi is a moving form of meditation that’s suitable for people of all ages and abilities. Each slow movement flows into the next one, all you need to do is keep an eye on your teacher and try your best to emulate the moves.
A gentle workout, its benefits include a positive effect on flexibility and balance.
According to Harvard Health, there is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, “has value in treating or preventing many health problems. And you can get started even if you aren’t in top shape or the best of health.”
A free Tai Chi class runs on Tuesdays at 9am and on Fridays at 12 noon on the plaza outside the Glucksman Gallery in the grounds of University College Cork.
Wear comfy clothes, bring a bottle of water and just show up to take part.
