You can pick up a pancake at Kent Station this evening for your train ride home

Here’s a treat for your commute later.
The Metropole Hotel is holding a Charity Pancake Sale in aid of Penny Dinners at Kent Station this evening so you can enjoy a freshly made traditional pancake en route home.
The hotel’s chef will be flipping pancakes in the train station from 4.30pm to 6pm on Shrove Tuesday.
Here’s the best bit: All pancakes will be €2 and all proceeds are going to Penny Dinners. Staff from the Metropole Hotels also visited Penny Dinners this morning to help make pancakes for some of the diners the charity feeds every day.
Pancake Race
The Metropole Hotel crew are big on Pancake Tuesday; at 10.20am this morning they’ll be inviting Cork businesses, media and politicians to recreate the famous pancake race once held on MacCurtain Street by Thompsons Bakery every year.
“We are very excited about Shrove Tuesday at the Metropole Hotel.” said Roger Russell, General Manager at the Metropole Hotel.
“We are delighted that so many businesses in the Victorian have said they will take part in the race today. The businesses in this area are passionate about collaborating and making sure all work together to make this a must-visit location in Cork.”
