You can get your hands on a Churros Sundae on George’s Quay (right up ’til 7pm)

Make a date for dessert.
With social outings severely curtailed for the time being, everyone’s looking for fun ways to get out of the house for an evening stroll. And if there’s an enormous sugary treat at the end of it, even better.
Right on time, Casanova Gelato on George’s Quay has just unveiled one of their most tempting creations yet; a Churros Sundae.
The Spanish delicacy, basically dough pastry, deep-fried to a hot, crunchy finish, is traditionally served with a dip such as chocolate sauce or dulce de leche.
At Casanova, you can order a batch for dipping or have your churros arranged in a gloriously OTT sundae, layered with one sauce from the list (try Biscoff or caramel), one topping (sprinkles? Malt balls? Vanilla fudge?) and a large dollop of fresh cream – €6.50 for the lot.
They’re vegan too so everyone can indulge.
If churros don’t float your boat, there’s also a new Fragrant Waffle Sundae that might fit the bill, as well as Casanova’s usual selection of outrageously tasty homemade gelato flavours in cones and tubs.
Casanova is open 2pm to 7pm, Tuesday to Sunday at No. 13 George’s Quay, with two counters now operating to ensure you won’t be waiting too long while social distancing in the queue.
