Whiskey fans will be gathering in a Galley Head barley field for a unique tour and tasting

This’ll warm your cockles on a chilly afternoon.
Clonakilty Distillery is hosting a special autumn Harvest Thanksgiving event to celebrate Irish whiskey’s links to the farming and food industry, as well as this year’s harvest, which will become the whiskey of the future.
The three-hour Harvest Thanksgiving tour begins at 2pm on Saturday, October 1st at the Galley Head barley fields, visiting the maturation warehouse, and finishing with a tour and tasting at the distillery.

Irish whiskey is the world’s fastest-growing whiskey and, as worldwide sales continue to grow, the Irish whiskey industry is buying more grain from Ireland’s farmers and investing more in local communities.
The Harvest tour is a rare occasion to meet Clonakilty Distillery’s founder Michael Scully at his barley fields where he will share stories of this magical location and a heritage barley project that will result in a very special farm-to-glass whiskey in the years ahead.
“Our maturation warehouse sits on the Scully farm and is not open to the public, however with Michael as your guide he can take this small group of lucky ticket holders for a glimpse inside and breathe in the aromas of this wind-swept Atlantic location.” they told us.
“Your journey culminates with a guided tour of our distillery in the town of Clonakilty and a special tasting of our best whiskeys.”
The event is strictly over-18s only and Harvest Tour tickets, €65, can be booked now here.
