Spoiler alert: it’s not great.
If you were hoping for a chance to dust off the barbecue this weekend, chances are it’s not going to happen.
Met Éireann is forecasting another wet and windy weekend ahead, with scattered showers interrupting the odd patch of August sunshine.
According to the national forecaster, “rain may linger along the south coast perhaps until midday or into the early afternoon” today with top temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds.

Temperatures will drop to between 10 and 13 degrees tonight and it will remain breezy with yet more showers.
Saturday and Sunday will be blustery with scattered showers and ‘the odd thundery downpour’, but there is some potential for sunny spells in between.
Might be time to invest in a brolly for the barbecue.
