Did you know that Cork was formed from four distinct towns?
Two upcoming tours will fill you in on everything you need to know about how each area played its part in creating the city we live in today.
As part of Heritage Week, a walking tour will begin at the Fountain on the Grand Parade at 1pm on Tuesday, August 20th.
The guided walk will take in the monastic town on Barrack Street, the Viking city on South Main Street, the Anglo Norman suburb of Dungarvan on North Main Street and the trading settlement of Shandon, built on butter.
Hosted by Cork Environmental Forum, the tour is free to join and you can find updates here.
Later in the week on Thursday, August 22nd, you can hear the story of the islands of the city during an evening cycling tour of Cork, which meets at the Fountain on the Grand Parade at 7pm.
