Weather: The Halloween forecast is here (and it’s actually not super scary)

It’s pretty grim out there this morning.
But Met Éireann says the weather is likely to improve by nightfall… if only just enough for some trick-or-treating later on.
“Bank holiday Monday morning will be cloudy and wet with some persistent and locally heavy rain, with the chance of spot flooding in places.” reports the national forecaster.
Despite an Orange Rainfall alert in place over Cork, Kilkenny, Tipperary, and Waterford, it’s looking like conditions may dry up over Munster just in time for some Halloween fun outdoors just after dark this evening.
It’ll be mild out too, so no need to pack on the layers underneath your costume.

“During the afternoon a clearance to mainly dry conditions will develop in the west, spreading eastwards later. Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees with light to moderate variable or southwest winds.”
The weather for the working week is looking pretty miserable so far, with Tuesday starting “unsettled with spells of wet and blustery or windy weather”.
On the plus side, temperatures will stay above average, though a little cooler than recently, especially at night.
