Two exceptionally good pop-ups are happening in this Ballydehob beer garden

It may not be a Mexican summer
But that’s not stopping the crew below in Levis’ in Ballydehob from throwing a fiesta the likes you’ve never seen this side of the equator.
From Wednesday, July 12th to Saturday, July 15th, chef Caitlin Ruth is hosting a Semana de Mexico X Oeste Cork pop-up in the famous folk club and beer garden, combining local ingredients with Mexican inspirations to make a four-course menu bursting with spices and flavours.
The menu sounds absolutely heavenly and includes surprising combos such as totopos with fermented chili salt and whipped Gubbeen queso; goat empanada with salsa; a smoked haddock ceviche tostada with guacamole falso and chicken with red and green sauce, black beans, courgette and sweetcorn.
There’s also a mean chocolate and coffee ice cream sandwich with caramel and rum pecans for dessert.

“Natural wine pairing menus available also on the night from the incredible Pascal of Le Caveau Wines, who will be taking over Levis Outback ‘Cantina’,” said the bar on Instagram.
