Two Cork spots are battling it out for Ireland’s Favourite Roast dinner

You can’t beat a Mammy dinner.
But if you’re own Mam needs a break this Sunday, there are plenty of Cork restaurants that dish up a fine roast – two of which have made a national shortlist.
The finalists for Ireland’s Favourite Roast have been announced and the Elm Tree, Glouthaune and The Barn, Glanmire have been nominated in the Munster region along with three other venues. The Elm Tree is a previous winner of the competition on a number of occasions while The Barn is a first-time entrant.
In total, there are 15 venues across the county, which will be mystery dined over the coming weeks.

The carvery is an Irish culinary institution with venues cooking and serving the finest locally sourced meat and veg accompanied, of course, by the tastiest gravy.
The competition, run in association with Knorr, will see venues scored on the quality and taste of their carvery offering as well as value for money.
Here’s the full list of the Munster finalists:
- The Elm Tree, Glounthune, Cork
- The Barn, Glanmire, Co Cork
- The Brogue Inn, Tralee, Co Kerry
- Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel & Spa, Adare, Co Limerick
- Mulcahy’s Bar & Restaurant, Clonmel, Co Tipperary
Following the mystery dining phase, provincial winners will be announced in late September.
