Join the Indie Choir and blast out pop songs once a week

Those who wish to sing always find a song.
And as with everything else in life, there is safety, and joy, in numbers.
If you’re someone with a set of powerful pipes, an ear for tasty harmony, and an obsession with pop music, you’ll be delighted to hear that The Indie Choir is looking for new singers.
Every week, the group, which just wrapped up a performance at City Hall as part of Cork Soul Fest, gathers in CBS Blarney Street to sing a chorus and practice for upcoming performances.

Members get to take part in all sorts of activities throughout the year – live performances, videos, collaborations with local musicians, and even carolling- so there’s no shortage of opportunities to impress and improve.
Each voice contributes to the chosen pop songs, which include classics like The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, With a Little Help from My Friends by Joe Cocker and September by Earth, amongst other popular tunes.
If you’re concerned about your technical musical knowledge, don’t worry- no previous musical education is needed to participate. The group uses line tapes (a recording of each line) instead of sheet music as well as a full recording of the song with all parts together, as well as sheet lyrics so that everyone can sing along by ear.
The Indie Choir meets Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm – 9pm at CBS Blarney Street. To sign up, simply email info@voiceworksstudio.ie.
