Tom Barry’s will be closing their beer garden early from now on

The busiest beer garden in Cork has been forced to make some changes.
Tom Barry’s on Barrack Street has announced that they will be closing their outdoor area early from now on, out of respect for their neighbours.
Posting on Facebook, the bar owners revealed the Tom Barry’s beer garden, which includes a coffee dock, pizza kitchen and cocktail bar, will now close at 10pm from Sunday to Thursday and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
“Though we realise that this may cause some inconveniences to our customers, it is also important to us that we respect our neighbours.” reads the post.
“You will, of course, be more than welcome to join us inside the bar for drinks and chats, and smoking will be permitted to the front of our building.”
The decision has caused some confusion among fans of the legendary bar, with one posting: “I live next door and the noise from the beer garden has never bothered me!”
Another Facebook fan added: “I was living next door for about three months when the world cup was on and it never bothered me either.”
Still, the decision has been made and Tom Barry’s are hoping their customers will help them enforce it.
“Thank you in advance for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.”
