To Douglas Street, where Coughlan’s Bar has transformed its outdoor space for live music

*Twinkle twinkle Coughlan’s Bar…*
Coughlan’s on Douglas Street is one of our favourite spots in the city to enjoy a pint and a gig and boy, have we been craving live music.
Now the venue has made some changes in their famous beer garden to allow audiences to safely enjoy all that they have to offer.

“We look forward to welcoming people back in for some live music,” the venue announced on Instagram. All acts will perform in the heated and covered outdoor area, which has been festooned with fairy lights to set the mood.
Several performers have already gigged in the space since the guideline changes in July, including Mick Flannery, Cathy Davey, David Kitt and Susan O’Neill.

With the gradual lifting of restrictions taking place and the final phase to come in October, it’s more great news for revelers hoping to keep themselves as safe as possible while enjoying all that Cork city has to offer.
Coughlan’s have been busy exploring other avenues too; the promotional wing of the bar, Coughlan’s Live Promotions, were also behind The Great Beyond festival in Kinsale’s Ballinacurra House, which saw acts such as Lisa Hannigan, Bell X1 and the Frank and Walters headlining the event.
Keep an eye on their social media pages for upcoming shows.
