Autumn is a good time for some self-care.
As the season of hibernation begins, a little inward reflection can help you to work out any lingering issues during the final months of the year and prepare to leave them all behind in 2022.
If you have no idea where to start, an upcoming series of workshops could point you in the right direction.
The Embodied Archetypes Workshop (EAW) uses the power of myths and archetypes to provide a safe and sacred space to express yourself through body, voice, and ritual.
The workshops have been running since 2012, led by former medical doctor, actress, singer and musician Dr Lewis Barfoot.
So, what exactly goes down at one of these things?
“I integrate the knowledge of the body from medicine, the emotional intelligence, and training of the body and voice from my drama training and the birthing of my own creative expression as a solo artist,” explains Dr Barfoot.
“And with the learnings, I now educate, lead, facilitate, shake up and inspire other women to walk their paths, make bold choices in their lives, use their bodies and voices to step into greater power, wholeness, and sovereignty.”
Sounds like mighty stuff.
“The workshops can support personal growth in all aspects of your lives: Be that to help you honour your boundaries, take care of your needs, step into your sovereign power, accept your body, achieve your goals, speak your truth, say NO and mean it or to let go of habits that no longer serve you.”
The workshops (€70) are aimed at women, AFAB, female-identified and non-binary people, and are trans-inclusive. There’s are three upcoming Cork dates:
- Sunday, October 17th: MAIDEN – Triskel Arts – Cork City
- Sunday, November 7th: HUNTRESS – Unity Yoga – Clonakilty
- Sunday, November 26th: WINTER WISDOM (Lover/Crone/Queen) – An Sanctoir – Ballydehob
