Throw in the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the greatest love story in Irish history and you have a perfect recipe for a romantic experience.
“On this easy-paced walking tour, we follow part of the route taken by Diarmuid Ua Duibhne and his lover Gráinne as they fled into Ceann Tuaithe (Toe Head) pursued by Fionn Mac Cumhaill and Fianna.
“The classic story is based on a love triangle between the great warrior Fionn mac Cumhaill, the beautiful princess Gráinne, and her paramour Diarmuid Ua Duibhne.”
The romance!
“As we follow the footsteps of the lovers, we will discuss focail (words) and traditions associated with love, intimacy and marriage in Gaelic Ireland. It is all delivered in a lively and entertaining fashion by our local guides.”
A refreshing alternative to the traditional Valentine’s Day schmalz, you can book a tour (€25pp) on the Gormú website here.
