This gorgeous Walking Festival is hosting moonlight meanders and sunrise strolls

They call it the crossroads of Munster.
Right on the borders of Cork, Limerick and Tipperary, Ballyhoura is a stunning part of the world for a stroll and this October, they’re pulling out all the stops to entice us all to come and check it out.
The Ballyhoura Walking Festival takes place from Friday, October 4th until Sunday, October 6th, with an intriguing line-up of events planned, some free and some ticketed but affordable.

The fitter folk can launch themselves into challenging hikes, or a Half Marathon across Ballyhoura’s Highest Peaks.
Meanwhile, there are more relaxed rambles for the rest of us, along with some special events that are guaranteed to be memorable, including a Sounds & Landscape Walk with renowned radio documentary maker Diarmuid McIntyre, the popular Moonlight Walk to Carrighenry on Friday evening and a breath-taking Dawn Chorus Sunrise Walk to Seefin, the highest point in the Ballyhoura Mountains on Saturday morning.

Sunday offers unique experiences such as the relaxing Yoga Walk and Forest Bathing Walk, as well as heritage tours of Medieval Kilmallock, Lough Gur, Doneraile and Anne’s Grove Gardens in Castletownroche, with re-enactments by The Doneraile Drama Society.
Families can enjoy the Family-friendly Bug Safari at Griston Bog too.
Tickets and start times for all the events, including the free ones, are open for booking now here.
