This genius service will gather your favourite farmer’s market goodies for you

Too busy to visit the local farmer’s market every week?
If work and life are preventing you from picking up the best fruit and vegetables, cheese, dips, sauces and kefir from your favourite local producers, there’s a new way to make sure your fridge is stocked with the good stuff.
Neighbourfood, hosted in Cork by The Rocket Man himself, Jack Crotty, is a service that allows you to shop all the best local food producers and collect your haul once a week in the city.
The weekly collection takes place on Tuesdays between 5pm and 7pm at the Apple Market (13A Barrack Street – Behind O’Sho Bar).
Last orders must be placed before midnight on Sunday so hop to it if you want to collect your goodies this week.
Interestingly, the Apple Market building is hundreds of years old and it was originally the spot where all the apples in Munster were delivered to, sorted and sent out to their final destinations.
Cork producers you can now shop from your phone include The Rocket Man, Nash 19, SOMA, Arbutus Bread, Banana Melon Kitchen, Applebee Bakes, Caherbeg Free Range Pork Ltd., Kilbrack Farm, Le Caveau Fine Wines, Bread and Roses, My Goodness, East Ferry Farm, O’Mahonys Butchers and RockSteady Food Co.
You can even order fresh flowers, kindling and logs and biodynamic wines.
Shopping is open now (check out the Cork producers here) and you can place an order for collection on Tuesday, February 12th.
Hit the Neighbourfood Facebook page for updates. A Douglas pick-up is in the works too.
We’ll never have a kombucha-free fridge again.
