This event will raise money for an extraordinary Gaza circus group with Cork links

Gather your crew and head along.
Get ready to witness a spectacular fusion of compassion, circus skills, and Cork spirit as a fundraiser for a Gaza women’s yoga and circus hub takes place on Saturday, November 25th.
Jenny Higgins, a UCC graduate with a knack for circus arts, found her passion at the Circus Factory in Cork while pursuing her MA in Human Rights. She then went on to establish the extraordinary Gaza Women’s Yoga and Circus Hub in 2018, which not only teaches circus skills to women and girls in Gaza but also serves as a haven for building relationships, trust, and a supportive community.
Now facing displacement due to the current turmoil, all 30 women connected with the Hub are in need of support.
The fundraising afternoon for these women is at Collective Cork on Tobin Street, and features two showings at 4.30pm and 6pm. It promises an unforgettable experience filled with circus acts, dance performances, and soulful melodies, all while standing in solidarity with the women facing unimaginable challenges in Gaza.
Artists include Inma Pavon, Ciara Finnerty, Eimear Ní Mhaoldomnaigh, and Heist Homicide.
As the current violence has left many women displaced, some staying in overcrowded houses and others in cars, the need for assistance is urgent. Some are pregnant, and even when the violence subsides, they face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives with homes destroyed and no means of income.
All funds raised will go directly to the women in the form of cash assistance, empowering them to decide how best to utilise the support. You can buy tickets for the event here for €15 or, if you can’t make it, but still want to donate, you can do so here.
