This €6 moisturiser is officially better than the pricey luxury brands

We love a good beauty bargain ’round here and this is one you can get your hands on by tonight.
Nivea’s budget Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream may even be in your bathroom cabinet already, but it’s just been shown to do a better job than some of its expensive skincare rivals.
When the producers of the BBC TV show The Truth About Looking Good delved into the world of moisturising cosmetics, they tested the NIVEA cream against Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (€24) and the French cult favourite, Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré Nourishing Moisturiser (€17).
A total of 25 volunteers, separated into three groups, recorded their skin condition before and after trying each cream.
NIVEA’s improved formula with jajoba oil and Vitamin E came out tops, with testers saying it improved the way their skin felt. Interestingly, testers reported that the Embryolisse cream had no effect whatsoever.
Fans of the budget NIVEA moisturiser have been praising the formula on the Boots website too.
‘I’ve only been using this cream less than a month,’ one comment reads. ‘I can honestly say on my face it feels amazing, I use it under my foundation . I also use it on my hands( I work a lot with card board boxes so my hands get very dry) amazing!’
Another wrote: ‘I really couldn’t praise this enough – beats many expensive creams and has a lovely smell, leaves skin silky soft.’
Budget brands are becoming more and more worthy of a trial these days. Last year Aldi’s LACURA Caviar Illumination Day Cream SPF15 began trending after fans proclaimed it better than its €305 counterpart, La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream.
