This cute new coffee truck just opened on Cork’s docklands

Their timing is perfect.
With anchor tenants Clearstream moving into their offices at Navigation Square this month, a brand new coffee truck has set up shop on the plaza below.
Cortado’s slick black mobile coffee counter will officially open on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 catering to workers’ caffeine needs at the O’Callaghan Properties dockland development.

Cortado is the real deal too; they import their beans from Columbia and roast them here in Cork. Expect a tasting profile that includes notes of cherry, brown sugar, blackcurrant and blackberries – delicious as an espresso or with milk, as per the Spanish ‘cortado’, which means coffee cut with milk or foam.
You can also pick up a fresh JJ O’Driscoll’s scone or a pain au chocolat and buttery croissants by Cameron Bakery if you’re feeling fancy.

With a new boardwalk due to be built in the stretch of waterfront between the Sextant and The Idle Hour boasting views onto a new floating pontoon for boats (all part of the new Docklands to City Centre Road Network Improvement Scheme), the area could become one of the coolest parts of Cork to hang out in.
In the meantime, drop by Cortado for a brew (you’ll find them at the back of Navigation Square, Albert Quay).
