This Cork barber took 1,000 appointments in less than one hour after reopening

He’ll have some serious beards to contend with.
But Cork barber Stephen Winters is looking forward to getting his extra-hirsute clients back in the chair on June 29th after three months of closure.
As the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar announced that hairdressers and barbers will be permitted to open their doors at the end of the month, Stephen, who owns Tom Winters on North Main Street, reinstated his Booksy app so customers could book in for July and beyond yesterday evening.
In less than one hour, more than 1,000 appointments had been made by Cork gents desperate to get their skin fades and beard trims, many booking their tune-ups in advance right up to Christmas.

Stephen first picked up a clippers at the age of 13. He continued cutting hair as a hobby as he travelled Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada before joining the military, where he spent 10 years serving and operating all over the world including in Afghanistan, Somalia and Malaysia.
Eventually, he was ready to turn what was a hobby and passion into a career, opening the doors of his vintage-inspired barbershop on the corner of 104 North Main Street in 2018.
Business was booming until Covid-19 restrictions closed down barbers and salons all over the country in March. After weeks of waiting, Stephen and his team are excited to get to work.
“We are buzzing to get everyone back in the chair,” he said.
