This beer garden experience involves tasting beer, whiskey, wine AND pizza

If you know what a cooper is, you’re already in the right place.
Jameson is teaming up with the knowledgeable folk at the Franciscan Well to host an evening of ‘charred and roasted flavours’ in the company of Ger Buckley, Master Cooper at Midleton Distillery this Thursday, May 16th, 2019.
A cooper is trained to make wooden casks, barrels and vats, the kind used in the maturation of Irish whiskey.
Once everyone has a beer in their hand, Ger will chat through the importance of cooperage and barrels in the production and maturation of Irish Whiskey with a dramatic demo of how coopering takes place- including the charring of the barrel.
Franciscan Well beer expert, Paudie Scully will talk everyone though the different flavour profiles in beer and share the Franciscan Well story, while Liam O’Connel, Jameson brand ambassador, will lead a tasting and talk on Croopers Croze, Jameson Black Barrel & Caskmates (along with a Shandon Stout pairing).
Finally Zofia Zayons, wine ambassador, will give a talk and taste of their Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon, which is produced using Irish Whiskey barrels.
To top it all off, the famous Pompeii pizza will be doing a special menu, dishing up once-off creations designed to enhance the flavour profile of the drinks on the night.
Tickets are €25 here and the fun begins at 7.30pm.
