Cork’s first nightclub for adults with intellectual disabilities opens this month

It’s set to become a regular event.
The first nightclub for adults with intellectual disabilities will take place in The Kino on Cork’s Washington Street Cork tonight.
Jerry Mulcahy, who has special needs himself, will be DJ for the night and the fun will kick off at 8pm until 11pm on Sunday, May 26th, 2019.
The event, organised by Jerry’s dad Alan Mulcahy and local publican Ernest Cantillon to create a safe space for people with special needs to enjoy Cork’s social scene, has been widely welcomed online, with DJ Stevie G agreeing to stop by and support, hitting the decks alongside resident DJ Jerry.
There will be a €5 per person entry free on the door and carers and parents are free.
The venue has full wheelchair access and toilets and the bar will be open, with teas and coffees available too.
“Security will also be at The Kino to supervise and assist.” says Alan Mulcahy.
