This beachside coffee truck is expanding into a custom café in Garretstown

We can’t wait to see the finished result.
Bean and Berry has long been one of our favourite spots to grab a mocha and a healthy smoothie bowl after a swim in the sea… and now they’ve announced some exciting news.
The team, led by owner Olan Crowley, is in the advanced stages of a renovation project that will see them take over the Blue Horizon, a popular guest house that welcomed staycationers to the area since the 1980s.
“We are absolutely thrilled to officially announce that we will be opening a Bean & Berry Cafe over the coming weeks.” the team announced on Instagram.
“After two incredible years beachside in Garrettstown we have seen our community grow from week to week and we can’t thank you guys enough for all the continued support as without you all none of this would have been possible.
Here’a peek at the progress so far:

“It’s hard to believe that a lockdown project during Covid has grown into what Bean & Berry is today. To be given the opportunity to serve you all in our very own cafe is beyond our wildest dreams.”
Set on a hilltop with panoramic ocean views, there are few more fitting spots for this beachy business, which hopes to “ramp up” its current menu of healthy brekkies and brunches, snacks, coffee, and treats.
“We will be expanding on our menu up there and hope to introduce a new bowl on our launch day,” Olan told Yay Cork.
“With the permanent location and the setting it’s in we will be doing more music evenings over the summer too so can’t wait for them. We will also be keeping the trailer at the beach… no fear of that going anywhere.”
The scene from the window takes in breathtaking ocean views over Courtmacsherry Bay encompassing the majestic Old Head lighthouse and a vast expanse of the sea where the tragic sinking of the Lusitania occurred.
