Nothing works up an appetite like the salty air.
And once the travel restrictions are lifted, we’re looking forward to a brunch by the beach in Garrettstown at Bean and Berry, a brand new mobile café with a healthy twist.
Run by Olan Crowley, Bean and Berry is one of few new Cork horsebox businesses with a menu focused primarily on healthy fare… just what we need after eating our weight in carbs during three separate lockdowns.
Once the restrictions are lifted and we can head for the coast again, you can reward an early morning swim, surf session or a stroll on the sand with a nutritious açaí bowl and a hot coffee, fresh juice or smoothie.
The bowls are packed with good stuff. The G Special, for instance, is a mixed berry, banana and açaí base topped with strawberries, banana, blueberries, chai seeds, granola and a drizzle of honey.
For those who prefer a sugar hit with their caffeine injection, fear not; there’s a mean rocky road on offer too.
Bean and Berry is open at Garretstown beach from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
