Kinsale’s St Francis Provisions is bringing a 5-course Friday feast to city dwellers

By Katie Mythen-Lynch March 24, 2021March 24, 2021

Bored of your local takeaway?

If you’ve exhausted every option within your 5km travel limit, two Cork businesses have teamed up to bring you something brand new for the weekend.

Kinsale’s buzzy St Francis Provisions restaurant has embarked on a tasty twinning project with city wine bar L’Atitude 51 on Union Quay.

The collab will see the St Francis crew sending 5-Course Dinner Provisions boxes to Cork City and L’Atitude-at-Home boxes heading to Kinsale every Friday.

Announcing the idea, Beverley Mathews, owner of L’Atitude 51 said it was dreamed up to help foodies virtually escape their 5km travel limit, if only for the length of a meal: “Cork City folks, if you’ve been drooling over those delicious Insta pics St Francis have been posting for the past couple of months, now’s your chance to sample their delicious food for yourself!”

The mouthwatering menu (€65 for two sharing) begins with house breads (a cherry tomato bubbly focaccia and Saint Francis sourdough) and a small plate to share, either creamy burrata with gunpowder spice or Irish charcuterie and accoutrements.

Then there’s a Market Plate of Gort na Nain asparagus, ajo blanco, almond pangrattato and crispy shallots, before the main course of baked cod, nihari spiced lamb loin chops or Caherbeg Cote de Boeuf for two (pictured above, €20 supplement).

Here’s a peek at what’s inside each box:

Kinsale folk can now avail of the L’Atitude-at-Home Series: “As L’Atitude is all about exploring wine and trying something new, our take-out boxes have wine at its centre designed to bring you on a journey and discover something different. And we match tastes to the wine from that region based on our travels and experience of food and wine pairing.” says Bev.

This week’s ‘A Taste of Austria’ box (€50 for two people) includes a selection of tastes from the region, including a bottle of ‘Out’ by biodynamic wine producer Judith Beck in Burgenland, Eastern Austria.

Here’s how it works…

To order from St Francis for pick up in L’Atitude on Friday from 6pm to 6.30pm, call 083 0636879 by Thursday at 12pm.
