There’s a free walking tour of Cork happening this Sunday

Could you do with brushing up on your local history?
This Sunday there’s a brilliant opportunity to do just that while getting out in the fresh air and exploring the city centre.
A new walking tour run by Creative Happenings Cork will transport you back in time to hear the story of the four distinct towns that came to form Cork city; the monastic town on Barrack Street the Viking city on South Main Street the Anglo Norman Suburb of Dungarvan on North Main Street and the trading settlement of Shandon, built on butter.
Don’t worry if you’re a walking tour newbie; the whole thing only lasts about three hours so it’s a brilliant way to dip a toe into local history while meeting new people and getting some exercise.
The walk meets on Sunday, March 10th, 2019 at 3pm outside the Fountain on the Grand Parade.
All you need to bring is a healthy curiosity, a rain coat and a comfy pair of shoes. Check out the details here.
