There are some truly epic foodie events about to happen in West Cork

If you like to eat, you should probably book the entire week off for this one.
With thirty-four guest chefs, twenty-three guest speakers and 255 culinary and adventure events happening in the space of just 10 days, the Taste of West Cork Food Festival is not kidding around.
Across 41 villages and eight islands, international chefs will be preparing feasts, food tastings, al fresco suppers, foraging walks, open-air markets, seminars, cook-offs, masterclasses and intimate evenings.
Chefs from Providence, Quincy and Scituate in the US will include USA MasterChef 2016 winner Shaun O’Neale, who will serve up a four-course West Cork themed dinner at Fernhill House & Gardens, Clonakilty.
Expert forager and wild medicine guru Alan Mahn will be in town for a workshop, while top vegan chefs Suzanna Melinn (Banana Melon Kitchen) and Jena Malone (vegan Korean and Vietnamese) will also be bringing their plant-based menus to the table.
Michelin-Star chef Derry Clarke will return for his eclectic food extravaganza on Sherkin Island, while new additions to this year’s programme include the Happy Pear brothers Dave and Stephen Flynn, Andrew Heron and Damien Grey of Michelin starred restaurant Heron & Grey and Ken Doherty and Gwen McGrath of Assassination Custard.
A Lobster Garden Party with MasterChef Ireland Winner 2014 Diana Dodog will take place at The Lifeboat Inn Gastropub, Courtmacsherry, while ‘Flora, Fauna and Food – a Bumblebee Farm Tour’, will treat foodies to cocktails and a tasting menu with Head Chef of Eccles Hotel, Glengarriff, Eddie Atwell as guest chef at Bumblebee Farm, Castledonovan, Drimoleague.
