The new Taytos flavour will bring you right back to your Irish ’90s childhood summers

Terrifyingly, we remember when a bag was just 10p.
Now Tayto is bringing us on a flavour journey back to our Nineties childhoods by creating a limited-edition Meanies flavour, hitting the shops all over Ireland this week.
The brand says the flavour “brings two icons together to create something spectacular” combining the original Irish crisp texture with the unmistakable taste of Meanies pickled onion.
Spectacular might be a reach but we must admit there’s a certain nostalgia to tucking into a bag of Meanies (or a Meanies sandwich!) on the beach. Back in the day, we’d have ours with a side of Dan Bar and a carton of Looney Toons sugar candy cigarettes.
“The limited edition Tayto Meanies pickled onion flavour is guaranteed to go down a treat with lovers of both the original crisp and the unique Meanies flavour – with fans no longer having to choose between the two!” a spokesperson said.
“If you want to get your hands on this taste sensation, it will be available in shops near you for a limited time only. Grab a packet while you can … the meanie will be taking them away soon!”
