The Croissant Run Club is now a weekly thing in Cork and we feel seen

Motivation is a funny thing.
Sometimes it’s the promise of a healthier lifestyle, increased flexibility, and range of motion that gets us up off the couch in the evenings.
Sometimes it’s looking or feeling good. And sometimes, it’s the thought of a delicious guilt-free treat at the end of the road that does it for us.
Now the Croissant Run Club Cork City, an idea first conceived by fitness influencer Tara Gallagher, has put together a weekly Sunday fun run with just a few goals in mind: to run for the craic, to make a friend, to take the pressure off, and more importantly, to eat croissants.
The newly established running club invites people of all genders, ages, fitness levels, and abilities to take part in a 3km jog through the city.
This week, the group meets at the car park in the Marina Market before heading along Union Quay, towards St Finbarre’s Cathedral, before hanging a right at Crawford College and finishing off at the Grumpy Bakers at the top of Washington Street, where they will end the morning with a coffee, chats and a buttery croissant.

It’s a fantastic way to meet new people, get some exercise, and enjoy a well-deserved pastry.
The event is completely free of charge, save for your own personal croissant and coffee if you’re having a snack. The community group meets every Sunday at the Marina Market at 9.30am.
