She recently made a trip to our lovely Leeside home to sample some of the best bites in the city.
“Cork has a reputation for serving some of the best food in Ireland and so I figured it was about time I checked out the dining scene,” said the presenter on social media.
“In short, I was impressed,” she gushed.
On day one of her trip, Leyla was spotted in several city centre locations: Farmgate Cafe, where she had some tea and scones; Nash 19 for Claire’s Favourite Chowder; White Rabbit for smoked butter, pulled pork and Kansas BBQ sauce; My Goodness to sample their amazing vegan cheese; O’Connell Fishmongers to try some oysters, before heading to George’s Quay for a selection of bites and Turkish coffee at Izz Cafe.
She also caught a bit of trad in The Corner House as well as a creamy Beamy and finished off the day with dinner at 51 Cornmarket Street.
On day two of her trip, the BBC judge headed to Clonakilty for a coffee at Stone Valley Roasters, a tipple at Clonakilty Distillery, topped off with a spin to the Fish Basket on the Long Strand for fish and chips.
“This is possibly the most beautiful setting that I’ve ever had fish and chips in,” she noted. Leyla then finished off her trip in Courtmacsherry at the Lifeboat Inn.
The travel and food presenter dropped a trailer of her trip on Instagram to her 120k followers along with a promise to return once more to the real capital armed with more recommendations and a new itinerary.
