Stop everything: There’s a €5 kombucha workshop happening at The Glucksman

Tired of paying over the odds for your fancy fermented drinks?
An upcoming workshop will show you the ropes when it comes to brewing your own kombucha at home.
The Gluckman’s First Saturday series take place on the first Saturday of the month, highlighting local producers and new trends.
The March edition will see Bobo Cafe present a kombucha making workshop and talk on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 from 3pm to 4pm.
The slightly fizzy tea is having a major moment thanks to its antioxidant and probiotic properties.
Despite the escalating cost of bottled blends, it’s quite simple to make at home once you know how, all you need is some clean jars, some tea, sugar and the star of the show; a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), which gobbles up the sugar over a few weeks and produces living bacteria.
Participants who go along to the Glucksman’s workshop will take away their own starter culture (you can book your place here) plus it’s a very reasonable €5 in, so all this hipster knowledge will likely set you back less than two bottles of kombucha.
