Tonight’s gig is sold out.

But Ed Sheeran fans can still get their hands on the next best thing at one Cork bakery over the next few days.

Messy Buns has unveiled trays of oven-fresh ‘Ed Velvet’ cupcakes, ready to be sold in both their locations in Midleton and at the Marina Market while stocks last.

Underneath the edible photo of the man himself atop each cake, you can expect a mouthwateringly soft red velvet chocolate flavour sponge and a luscious cream cheese topping – just the sugar rush you need to sustain you for an evening’s hollering along to the hits.

With 70,000 people expected to descend on the city for the Cork leg of Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour, they’re guaranteed to sell like, well, hotcakes.

Hopefully someone will save him a box to enjoy when he comes off stage.
