It’s an early start.
But the LeisureWorld team is hoping the energy of the summer solstice will help get them through a huge fundraising effort on behalf of Cork Penny Dinners on June 20th, 2020.
Team LeisureWorld is planning to take one million steps in 17 hours on the longest day of the year, kicking off at 4.56am and walking, jogging and dancing right up until sunset at 9.56pm. The staff challenge will take place at the LeisureWorld Pitches in Bishopstown and Churchfield, with social distancing in place at both venues.
All the money raised will be donated to Cork Penny Dinners to support the vital services they provide to individuals in crisis. Penny Dinners is open to everyone, seven days a week, all year round, no questions asked. Since the pandemic, Cork Penny Dinners need help more than ever.
“We are always keen to help our communities in any way we can,” said LeisureWorld Manager, Rob Stapleton.
“We all need to come together, support and be there for each other now more than ever. We are looking forward to the one million steps challenge in June and to working as a team to help out this amazing charity.”
The team will be sharing live updates across their social channels during the challenge and you can help them reach their €5,000 target by donating here.
